Bázakerettye is a natural gem in the heart of the South Zala Hills. Clean air, 400 hectares of forest, small railways, lakes and thermal baths await you. In the mornings you can relax on the terrace and listen to birdsong, in the evenings you can even hear deer roaring.
Apartments
Azálea Guesthouse is open from March to October. The guest house has 5 apartments and a dining room with kitchen. In front of the apartments and the restaurant there are covered terraces, so you can relax regardless of the weather conditions. The design of the apartment house is also suitable for family reunions as well as class meetings.

The guest house also has a small farm where we process our beekeeping products.
In addition to peace and recharging, active relaxation is also guaranteed: forest railways, beekeeping, cycling, hiking or even a thermal bath.
As part of the village table service, we offer oven-baked meals made from our own produce and breakfast is also available.

This is what we strive to do by offering products from our Mohos family farm. We believe that our guests can be happy in the hills of South Zala with its clean waters, sub-alpine air, lush forests, orchards and vineyards of many private farms. A cultural landscape shaped by human hands. It is to these treasures that we add our competent and conscientious work, for the sake of quality tourism.

In addition to relaxation, Bázakerettye and its surroundings offer a wide range of activities for our guests. We also offer gastronomic and handicraft programmes on request.
In the heart of the Zala hills, far from the bustling cities
Bázakerettye is the ideal place for those who are looking for peace and quiet. Visitors who like to observe the changing seasons and the many wonders of nature can enjoy unparalleled little surprises. The locals carefully preserve their traditions. They do not build fences around their houses, showing their openness to each other and to visitors.
Bázakerettye and surroundings
In Bázakerettye, you can visit the Oil Museum as part of the oil history walk. The village is crossed by a forest railway. If you feel like wandering around after the train ride, you can follow the Rockenbauer Pál memorial hike or take a dip in the waters of Lake Kistolmács. You can walk in the Budafa Arboretum or in the Vétyem beech forest. Further on, you can visit the monument to Hungary’s first oil well.
Dinner & wine tasting
On request – for a minimum of 8 people – we can provide a barbeque dinner in the Bake House. Quality ingredients are provided by local producers.
On request, wine tasting and wine dinner can be held in the only converted bunker wine bar in the country, the Bunker Wine Bar.
Beekeeping demonstration
The beekeeping demonstration will give our guests an insight into the life of bees. All this, of course, with the provision of protective equipment. During the demonstration, you can see how bees work in their hives, how they collect nectar from flowers and process it into honey. They will also learn how a colony of bees works and the important role they play in natural ecosystems.

Craft jams & honeys
The guest house is a third-generation family-run apiary. We are proud to be on a mission to offer families seasonal produce processing. All this is done with sustainability, environmental protection and quality ingredients in mind. To build on this, we offer one to two hour fruit canning courses, jam and syrup making, chestnut processing and beekeeping demonstrations as active program offerings.
Active relaxation
Massage beds, exercise machines, Nordic Walking sticks and bicycles are provided. A tow hook for 3 bicycles is available for rent.
The beach and thermal baths at Bázakerettye include two warm-water adventure pools, a hot tub, a 33×15 m cold-water swimming pool and a children’s pool. Travelling a little further afield, you can visit the Thermal Baths of Lenti or even the nearby Slovenian water paradise of Moravske-Toplice.
